History

Labradoodle Origin (sometimes also known as British Labradoodles, American Labradoodles, Early Generation Labradoodles) are initially an intentional cross between the Labrador Retriever and the Poodle. They have an incredibly social nature and love being with their people. They are extremely intelligent, taking their problem-solving ability from the Poodle and their willingness to please from the Labrador. They have excellent temperaments and are fabulous with young children. As they are so clever, they require lots of mental stimulation and appropriate training from a young age. This means that they are not suited to full-time workers.

Please note that MOST LABRADOODLE ORIGIN DO SHED THEIR COATS TO VARYING DEGREES. We would recommend that, if there is an allergy/asthma sufferer in your household, you consider the Australian Labradoodle, as they have a 98% allergy/asthma friendly success rate.

Miniature:
14" -16" (not over 17") (or about 35-42 cms) at the shoulder. Miniature Poodle used. Weight range is in the range 7-12 kg (or about 15-25 lbs).

Medium:
17" -20" (or about 43-51 cm) at the shoulder. Miniature Poodle used. Weight range is 13-20 kg (or about 30-45 lbs).

Standard:
22" -26" (or about 56-66 cm) at the shoulder. Standard Poodle used. Weight range is 23-30 kg (or about 50-65 lbs).

Both sizes come in different coat colours, and different coat types, although most are of the 'hair' type.
