Family Care Home Programme
In order to succeed as excellent breeders and to develop the Australian Labradoodle and Labradoodle Origin breeds, we need to have a number of dogs in our breeding programme. This is especially the case when we create a new Australian line, since, for example, it can take up to 14 dogs to create one new ALF3 line.
We have found that our Family Care Home Programme is the best way for us to succeed with this whilst ensuring that all of our dogs are cared for to the highest standards and receive lots of exercise, love and affection.

This is a very special programme that allows our breeding dogs to live as much loved family pets with local, carefully selected families while participating in our breeding programme.
As opposed to paying full price for a pet puppy, you will receive a 'pick of litter' puppy, chosen by us, for 25% of the normal pet price. Once the puppy turns 12 months old, we assess her for quality based on our high breeding standards. We will then pay to completely health test your puppy for things like hips, elbows, prcdPRA, vWD and eyes. Based on the results from this health screening, we decide if we would like to breed from the puppy in the future. If we decide not to, we pay for her to be spayed and you pay us a further 25% of the total pet price, so that you would have a beautiful puppy for half the price you would normally pay for one of our pet puppies.
If we decide that we would like to breed from the girl, she comes back to us to be bred, whelp and raise her litter before returning to you. You are, of course, welcome to visit her during the time she spends with us, which would be for around one week to be bred and around six weeks to whelp and raise her litter. We would take up to three litters from her, depending on how her puppies turned out and how she took to motherhood. Once we have finished breeding from her, we spay her for you and sign over full ownership to you, and she lives with you as a family pet for the rest of her life. In return for the loving home you would be providing to one of our puppies, if you were to go on holiday we would look after her in our home while you were away, so that she could get to know us and feel confident around us for when she has puppies.
We believe that, by using this programme, there are many benefits both for the dog, since she can live in a family home environment with lots of individual love and attention, and for the family care home, as you would have a top quality Australian Labradoodle for 25% of the normal pet price, you would not have to pay for kenneling when you went on holiday, and you would have the benefits of being involved with her litter of puppies without all the hard work and responsibility!
This programme is widely used in Australia and the USA, and we have recently started it here in Scotland, where so far it is working well. If you are interested in becoming a family care home and you live within a couple of hours drive (we're about 40 miles north of Edinburgh, in Fife), please feel free to contact us to express an interest or ask any questions you may have.
